After many years of testing various drivers and experimenting with
different crossover topologies, we have found a combination of
drivers and crossover synergy that brings a level of performance
never seen before in high end audio at our price.

Design Goals:

*Develop a 3-way speaker that brings reference levels of
transparency.
* Utilize state-of-the-art drivers yet still represent a solid
value
* Offer several driver configurations to fit the customer's
budget.
* Maintain the philosophy that an increase in price should
represent an increase in performance.

Performance:
Some of the highlights of this speaker include a crossover
that hits Linkwtiz Riley 2nd order slopes, drivers that have
absolutely the lowest harmonic distortion profiles, and a
very linear frequency response that is true to the source.
The phase alignment is virtually flawless, and the summing
of the drivers results in a flat frequency response on and off
axis.  The design can be built either sealed or ported. If
sealed, the bass will extend to an F3 of 42hz.  One could
then augment the Duet10 with a subwoofer.  However,   in a
ported enclosure, it will allow the bass to extend below 30hz
in room.   This should satisfy most listeners.  The sound is
detailed, smooth and extended.  Honestly, it doesn't get
much better than this.

The Duet10 uses extremely high end drivers but reflects a
solid value at the same time.  Several driver options are
available. The tweeter is the outstanding Scan Speak 6600
or Illuminator 6620.  The midrange is the Scan Speak
15W4531G with a non-coated paper cone or the extremely
high end Accuton C173-T6 90.  The woofer can either be a
Seas L26 aluminum cone woofer, Excel W26 or Scan Speak
26W aluminum cone woofer.

Currently, the following driver combinations are available.

Duet10SS
Scan Speak Air Circ tweeter or Illuminator 6620, Scan
Speak 15W4531G, and Seas L26 or Seas W26 woofer.

Duet10A
Scan Speak Air Circ 6600 or Illuminator 6620, Accuton
C173-90, and Scan Speak 26W aluminum 8 or 4 ohm
(pictured).

The Duet10ss contain Clarity Capacitor SA range on the tweeter
and Clarity Capacitor  PX range on the midrange and woofer
circuits.  The tweeter zobel impedance circuit has a standard poly
cap.  No electrolytics.  The premium crossover has a 12 AWG low
DCR air core coil on the woofer circuit and high purity copper air
core inductors are used everywhere.  The resistors are all Mills.
The Budget crossovers use all ERSE capacitors, inductors, and
resistors.  The woofer circuit has a 14 AWG magnet core low DCR
coil and the rest is all air core high purity copper inductors.

Premium Crossovers in the Duet10A contain Clarity Capacitor ESA
range on the tweeter and  Clarity Capacitor PX range on the
midrange and woofer circuits for values below 80uf.  The tweeter
zobel impedance circuit has a standard poly cap.  No electrolytics.
The premium crossover has a 12 AWG low DCR air core coil on the
woofer circuit and high purity copper air core inductors are used
everywhere.  The resistors are all Mills.

The Budget crossovers use all ERSE capacitors, inductors, and
resistors.  The woofer circuit has a 14 AWG magnet core low DCR
coil and the rest is all air core high purity copper inductors.

For the best sound place the speakers a couple feet away
from walls, but feel free to experiment.

Frequency Response:  30hz-20k +/- 2.5db Ported
Sensitivity:  84db-87db (depends on woofer choice)
Impedance: 4 or8 ohm nominal (depends on woofer choice)
