Duet10SS Kit (pair)
The Duet10SS features Linkwitz Riley 2nd order slopes for a
smooth power response, drivers that have very low harmonic
distortion profiles, and a very linear frequency response that is
true to the source. The phase alignment is virtually flawless, and
the summing of the drivers results in a flat frequency response on
and off axis. The design can be built either sealed or ported. If
sealed, the bass will extend to an F3 of 42hz. In a ported
enclosure, it will allow the bass to extend below 30hz in-room.
One could augment the Duet10SS with a subwoofer and use the
Minuet5B as matching surrounds and the Minuet5BCC as for the
center channel. The Duet10SS really shines in 2 channel systems.
The drivers in the Duet10SS are of the very highest quality, and
in our opinion, offer performance to back up the higher costs.
The Seas L26RFX/P woofer has class leading bass performance
and good sensitivity at a reasonable cost. The mid/bass unit is the
Scan Speak 15W4531G, a 5.5” uncoated paper cone driver with an
advanced motor. This provides a smooth response, lower
harmonic distortion, and improved bass clarity. The tweeter is
the dynamic sounding Air Circ 6600 that features an advanced
motor, which allows it to play without strain at reasonable
output levels. It's extended response allows us to use LR2 slopes,
while the baffle aligns the acoustic center of the drivers for proper
phase alignment.
The Duet 10SS crossovers come professionally assembled on a
circuit board. High quality parts are used throughout the
parallel circuits, including film capacitors and air core inductors.
The series tweeter circuit uses metal oxide resistors and Clarity
Cap PX capacitors, while the series woofer circuit uses a low DCR
Sledgehammer inductor. Many options are available for this kit,
